Reading

Guides.

Health writing on the internet is mostly confident and mostly unsourced. These pages go the other way: each one is written from the guideline or consensus statement it cites, carries the date it was last checked, and says out loud where the evidence thins out — including where an app is the wrong tool entirely.

What a page has to clear to be here

Four rules. A guide that cannot meet all four does not get written.

Primary sources, read in full
Every claim links to the clinical guideline, consensus statement or public-health body it comes from — not to an article about one. Where a paper is behind a wall we could not get through, it is left out rather than cited from its abstract.
A review date you can see
Each guide shows when it was last checked, in the same type as the rest of the page. Health guidance changes; a page with no date is asking to be trusted blindly. Ours are re-read at least once a year, and the site’s own build check refuses to ship a guide that has gone stale.
The limits in the same size type as the claims
If the popular version of a piece of advice is stronger than the evidence behind it, the guide says so. If the honest answer is “this is the point to see someone”, that gets a panel, not a footnote.
Not medical advice, and not a sales pitch
A guide is background reading. It does not diagnose, it does not treat, and it is not written to make HealthApp look like the answer — the sleep guide spends a section on what the app deliberately does not do.

Published

There is one guide here, and that is on purpose.

A guide takes reading the primary sources end to end, and most of the work is deciding what not to say. We would rather publish one page we can defend than a shelf of them we cannot, so this section grows when there is something worth the space — not on a content schedule.

Each pillar will get there. Sleep went first because it is the one with the clearest clinical guidance to write against.

Meanwhile, the short version.

The evidence behind all five pillars, in one page, with the same rule about sources.
